Recently i discovered something interesting: NodeBox, a tool for making graphics in a programmatic way: combining graphical nodes and some code leads to visual effects.

There are some other toolslike this out there - but I like NodeBox due to its simplicity.

In Amsterdam gilt die Meinung Osdorp sei irgendwie nicht mehr Amsterdam. Hat auch ein wenig etwas von Vorort - mir war die alte Location im Herzen von Amsterdam lieber - aber man war sogesehen nicht abgelenkt von der Schönheit der Dinge rundherum.

Muss auch sein. Vielleicht. Jedenfalls erzählt die gute Stacey gerne davon was zu bedenken ist wenn man für "Mobile Devices" gestaltet und programmiert. Und das macht Sie dann doch sehr gut.

Ein Buzz-Word dabei ist: Casual Computing (d.h. die Tablet-Computer und Mobile Devices verlassen die früher gewohnte Büroheimat und erobern alle Ecken unseres Lebens.) dieser Effekt nimmt großen Einfluß auf die Gestaltung der diversen Oberflächen und Applikationen.

Auch die Tatsache, dass es auf Tablets und Mobiles eher schwierig ist, Daten einzugeben macht Änderungen in der Herangehensweise nötig (traditionelle Texteingaben werden abgelöst von Gesten, Wortvorschlägen und "real world physics" Sensorik).

Grant Skinner

Irgendwie scheint es, dass das Genie Grant Skinner ein wenig müde geworden ist. Und dann auch noch nicht gerade freundlicher. Aber wie auch immer, einen Vortrag darüber wie man seine Aufmerksamkeit erhöhen kann und dass kleine Pausen im Arbeitsalltag gut sind habe ich nun doch nicht erwartet. Aber das wars dann. Ein Highlight gab's dann aber doch:

Easel - eine JS Bibliothek, die auf der HTML5 Canvas eine Art Framework für den geneigten Flash-Programmierer emuliert. Es gibt dann auf der canvas beispielsweise eine display list.

Die Adobe Keynote

Mark Anders spricht von den umfassenden Neuerungen rund um Flash. GMUNK and TRON / MK12

Die beiden abschließenden Vorträge am Tag 1 waren dann doch eher design-lastig. Zum Einen präsentierte GMUNK: (Bradley Munkowitz) die Animationsarbeiten an TRON, die er gemeinsam mit einem Gruppe aus Programmierern und 3D Artists kreiert hatte. Links dazu:

Highlights

Internal Linking - click a button for an internal link and it allows you to search for a post or browse a list of existing content and select it for inclusion.
Admin Bar - contains various links to useful admin screens. By default, the admin bar is displayed when a user is logged in and visiting the site and is not displayed in admin screens for single blog installs. For multisite installs, the admin bar is displayed both when visiting the site and in the admin screens.
Streamlined Writing Interface - new users of WordPress will find the write screen much less cluttered than before, as more of the options are hidden by default. You can click on Screen Options in the top right to bring them back.
